Operation

1.
Position power reel (dolly-style) onto prepositioned and secured "wheel-cradle." A single-point attachment secures reel to vessel.

2.
Recline power reel into its stowed position, lay towfish in padded cradle, secure towfish cable to towfish and computer or processor, clamp onto 12v or 24v power supply then secure towfish in its padded cradle.

3.
Proceed to search area. At search site, recline power reel into its "ready" position.

4.
Deploy towfish by extending and securing boom and removing towfish from its cradle—allowing towfish to hang suspended over the water's surface.

5.
Release drive-belt tensioner from its securing hook slowly to "freewheel" towfish to desired search depth. * Freewheel speed is controllable and varies with the amount of tension manually retained on the bent-tensioner handle (from very slow to very fast). At desired search depth, resecure belt-tensioner handle and use the simple up/down switching control to raise and lower towfish.

6.
When search is complete: lower towfish to its maximum depth of the day, manipulate towfish cable back onto spool evenly with cable aligner, raise towfish to surface, secure towfish in padded cradle, raise entire unit into "stowed" position and remove towfish and power cable.
